One of the fundamental characteristics of sumi-e is its depiction of the "chi",
or energy and power, of the subject. This trait lends itself to an
elegant, dynamic portrayal of the modern sport horse, with a few dabs of black
ink dancing across the page to capture the essence of speed, power and
exhilaration of modern horse sports.
All works are hand-painted on fine watercolor or rice paper. Each is
matted and hand-stamped by the artist. Because each is an original
artwork, no two are exactly alike nor will any be entirely identical to those
shown. However, each piece possesses the spirit of the ancient art of sumi-e
and of its subjects. Matting colors may vary.
